Blood Changes 2

There are some very important changes in the coagulation system; there is relative hypercoagulability. This is due to raised plasma levels of fibrinogen and factors Vll, X and Xll, and to decreased fibrinolysis.

The risk of venous thromboembolism is greatly increased during pregnancy.
