Beds should be mobile and adjustable, with tilt.

They should have removable sides.

Mattresses should have waterproof washable covers, cleaned between each patient.

Pressure-relieving mattresses should be available.

Sheets, pillows and blankets should be changed and cleaned regularly, even if provided by the patient’s family.
